Additional Presidential proclamations and a White House Fact Sheet affecting imports of steel and derivative steel products, as well as aluminum and derivative aluminum products were issued on February 10, 2025 and February 11, 2025 respectively imposing tariffs of 25% effective as of 12:01 EDT on March 12, 2025.
All imports of certain specific derivative aluminum articles specified in the proclamation that are the product of Russia where any amount of primary aluminum used in the manufacture of the derivative aluminum articles is smelted in Russia, or the derivative aluminum articles are cast in Russia, could be subject to sanctions of 200 percent ad valorem rate of duty established in Proclamation 10522, with respect to goods entered for consumption, or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption, pending a Department of Commerce certification.
The new tariffs will apply without exception, and regardless of previously approved product exclusions, or established agreements with individual countries.
A detailed review of each proclamation should be carefully conducted in order to determine exactly how they may affect your products.
